We know filling out personal contact info online (or anywhere!) can be concerning. Please know that we only use this information to be able to contact you for follow-up questions IF you qualify for one of our studies. Otherwise, we don’t use it at all. We highly value our participants’ time and privacy and have never sold anyone’s contact information in over 40 years of operation- either from screening to see if they qualify for a study or from the studies themselves. We must ask your information to ensure you are willing, able and trustworthy enough to be contacted to participate in scientifically-based research studies (helping to avoid the bots and people just looking to scam a few bucks). Please feel free to read our Participants Bill of Rights and Terms & Conditions, and let us know if you have any other questions or concerns about your information being misused.
It can be frustrating to go the extra mile, filling out the whole screener survey for a study, but still not get in.
Each study has unique needs and strives to include a variety of people and perspectives- especially for focus groups and interviews. Criteria to be invited also changes according to who has already signed up- this can be based on demographics, personal activities, opinions, etc.
Although our studies are very specific and usually only include a small number of people, we also limit the number of studies a person can participate in each year to ensure we’re giving other people a chance to qualify/get a turn.
We’ll do our best to place you whenever possible. If you don’t make it into a study, please consider signing up for the Tell Us Your Opinion panel, and we’ll send email invites directly to you to make the process easier.

Every study Consumer Logic helps conduct has very specific needs. Being told you qualify but cannot participate can happen for a couple of reasons:
- An “over quota”. We must ensure that a variety of people and perspectives are included in each project to fairly represent the communities we are studying. If your responses on the screening survey (e.g., demographics, activities, opinions, etc.) are similar to others who have already signed up, that profile (aka a quota) may already be full.
In these cases, you will be placed on a standby list in case someone else cancels (or the quota changes). If a spot re-opens, our office will reach out to you via email and/or phone to see if you would still like to participate.
- Not available during date(s)/time(s) that a study is taking place.
Our studies generally happen over a short period time and run on a very tight schedule.
We must stick to the times offered to ensure insights gathered from these important studies are delivered on schedule to the communities and organizations making decision based on their findings.
You will be receiving a follow-up to confirm your participation roughly a week before the study takes place. This email will include a reminder of the time, date and length of the study as well as the location, payment type/amount confirmation, and any other relevant details (confidentiality, parking information, special directions, if food will be served, video/audio taping consent, etc.).
You will also be called by our office to confirm the information you submitted, answer a couple additional questions, and ask us about any questions/concerns you might have.

Payment (or gift) is issued to those who complete a study right after they finish participating.
So that you know exactly what you will receive if you decide to sign up for one of our studies, the amount and type of payment/gift is listed in your invitation to participate. This can be in the form a check issued by Consumer Logic (most common), cash, Visa gift cards, store gift cards, or other benefits (e.g., casino free play, bonus rewards, etc.).
Payments/gifts are handed out to respondents as they leave an in-person focus group or interview. If the study is conducted via phone/online (NOT in person), they are mailed or can be picked up at the Consumer Logic offices in Tulsa.
As a standard, our studies are conducted anonymously with the greatest privacy held both for those who participate and the organizations who have an interest in the insights they offer.
This double-blind approach (the organizations commissioning the study don’t have your contact info and you don’t have theirs) is standard practice for any reputable market research company that follows high integrity guidelines of scientifically-based studies.
Participation in all of our studies is entirely voluntary. If you have concerns, it may be best to refrain from participating so you don’t have to worry about feeling uncomfortable sharing anything or having a personal/professional conflict of interest.
